A map pack for this trip
Draw around an area with your finger, or download “along the route ±10 km” to save space. The pack holds the vector map, terrain, contour lines, trails, fords, bridges, springs and huts, plus photo previews of your route points.
The planner tells you when a trip is ready to go: “This trip is fully available offline ✓”.
What works with no signal
- Map, terrain, contour lines and 3D relief of the area.
- Track recording — including with the screen off.
- Auto check-ins and the plan-vs-actual schedule.
- Elevation profile, sunrise and sunset — computed on the phone.
- The last weather forecast for each point, marked with the time it was fetched.
You need a connection to download maps, snap a line to trails, refresh the weather and share your position with companions.
Where the data comes from
Trails, rivers, passes, springs and huts come from OpenStreetMap. Terrain comes from the Copernicus digital elevation model, which also gives the contour lines, hillshade and elevation profiles.
Battery
GPS is polled adaptively: less often on straight stretches, more often near route points. “Eco” mode records a point every 30 seconds for long days away from a socket.
Storage
The map manager shows how much is downloaded and how much space is left. Remove an area you no longer need with one tap; old packs get updated.
